Day 8: October 6: More Scenes from Ann Arbor

Lots of Squeeze on XM. "Is That Love?" Reminds me of Bryan Heaton. There's this funny line: "beat me up with your letters/your walk out notes/funny how you still find me/right here at home/legs up with a book and a drink/now is that love that's making you think?"

Visits today were good: logistics even better, but I think this was mostly due to luck. There was exactly ONE parking space in the visitor lot at the first school. And who knew that I had to arrive at school number two at least TWO hours early to get a parking space? Conveniently, school number two is right next to Zingermans (see below)

INSTEAD of heading to Ruby Tuesdays, I went to the great Ann Arbor deli Zingermans. I was not disappointed: the sandwiches were delicious and I felt good about going to a local place with character instead of a chain restaurant. Since I am no longer the upstate New York counselor, I won't be going to Ithaca, or it's homey Moosewood Restaurant for dinners and I am truly sad about it.

This is the facade of Zingermans. Looks like a movie set flat!

This is the outside eating area under a tent (it was kind of rainy today)

The Roasted Potato side (sounds like a ragtime piece)

And the main course: Abra's Nutty Yard Bird: chicken salad and sprouts on toasted raisin pecan bread, comes with a large pickle (not pictured).
